Small group journeys

Inside Morocco: Tangier, Rabat & Marrakech

With Sharon Santoni

Overview

This journey through Morocco has been designed to offer a thoughtful and well-paced discovery of three of the country’s most inspiring cities: Tangier, Rabat, and Marrakech.

A tiled stone pool at the center of an ornate Moroccan courtyard.
Folded linens, pillows, and hanging hugs on display at a market in Morocco.
Moroccan riad featuring tiled floors, arched windows, and a stone fountain.
Colorful woven sacks of spices on display at a Moroccan souk.
Ornate stone and mosaic Moroccan fountains with blue tiles displayed along a stone wall.

Each destination brings a different perspective, from the coastal energy of Tangier, to the architectural and cultural contrasts of Rabat, and the rich, layered atmosphere of Marrakech.

Throughout the trip, we will explore a carefully curated selection of places: gardens, ateliers, and local addresses that reflect the creativity and craftsmanship Morocco is known for. Along the way, there will be opportunities to meet artists and artisans, understand their work, and experience the culture in a more direct and personal way. The journey will be led by Sharon Santoni and Franck Schmitt, who has spent decades traveling through Morocco and building strong relationships across the country.

Highlights

Morocco is a country of contrasts, where each region feels distinct yet connected through a strong sense of culture and craftsmanship.

From Tangier in the north, shaped by its proximity to Europe and its long artistic history, to Rabat’s more unique architectural identity, and finally Marrakech, with its energy, gardens, and layered traditions, this journey moves through different atmospheres and ways of life.

Along the way, what stands out most is the attention to detail, whether in architecture, design, or everyday objects. It’s a place where tradition remains very present, but is constantly being reinterpreted in a more contemporary way.

WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING

WHERE YOU’LL STAY

Hotels with Moroccan Charm

Fairmont Tazi Palace in Tangier, Morocco featuring a tiled swimming pool, bright open windows, and lush surrounding greenery.

Tangier

Fairmont Tazi Palace

For our time in Tangier, we will be staying at the Fairmont Tazi Palace Tangier, set on the hills above the city, overlooking the medina and surrounded by nature.

Originally built as a private residence in the 1920s, the palace has been carefully restored and transformed into one of Tangier’s most beautiful hotels. The property is set within extensive gardens filled with eucalyptus trees, palms, and citrus groves, offering a quiet and spacious environment.

Four Seasons hotel interior in Morocco, featuring an open communal salon and bar with bright natural light, palm trees, and a stone fountain.

RABAT

Four Seasons

Set along the Atlantic Ocean in Morocco’s elegant capital, the Four Seasons Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr occupies a beautifully restored 18th-century royal palace once belonging to Sultan

Moulay Slimane. Blending historic Moorish architecture with contemporary luxury, the property feels both grand and deeply serene, with lush gardens, elegant courtyards and sweeping ocean views.

Jnane Rumi hotel room in Marrakesh, featuring an ornate bed frame, plush yellow carpet, and green accent furniture.

Marrakesh

Jnane Rumi

For our time in Marrakech, we will be staying at Jnane Rumi, a private estate located in the Palmeraie, just a short drive from the Medina.

Set within a vast palm grove, the property offers a calm and spacious environment, surrounded by gardens, mature trees, and open landscapes. The estate is designed as a house rather than a traditional hotel, creating a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere throughout the stay.
