There are countless hotels in Paris, and choosing one can feel overwhelming. These are the addresses we’ve stayed in, loved, and keep suggesting again and again.
One of the questions we’re asked most; by readers, friends, and guests joining us on our tours, is a simple one: “Where should we stay in Paris?”
And the truth is, there’s no single answer. Paris has an extraordinary hotel scene, and the “right” place really depends on what kind of stay you’re after: quiet and residential, creative and lively, discreet and intimate, or something that feels like stepping into a dream.
Many of our guests extend their stay in Paris before or after a tour, and over the years we’ve spent countless nights moving between neighbourhoods, trying new addresses, revisiting old favourites, and keeping an eye on what feels right now.
So we thought we’d share a short list of the hotels we genuinely love at the moment, in different areas of the city, with very different personalities; but all places we would happily recommend to a friend.

Saint James Paris
5 Pl. du Chancelier Adenauer, 75116 Paris
If Paris had a secret château, this might be it.
Tucked away in the very exclusive 16th arrondissement, the Saint James Paris feels like half château, half family home. Completely redesigned by Laura Gonzalez, it’s romantic, theatrical, and deeply Parisian without ever feeling stiff.
The neoclassical architecture has been beautifully respected, but softened with light, colour, and layers that make it feel warm and lived-in. The garden almost feels like part of the house, and the atmosphere is surprisingly intimate for such a grand place.
The Guerlain Spa is also one of the most impressive in Paris right now; expansive, calm, and perfect if you want to slow down after busy days in the city.
It’s elegant, a little nostalgic, and quietly magical. A hotel for people who love history, beauty, and a sense of timeless Paris.

Relais Christine
3 Rue Christine, 75006 Paris
This is one of those hotels people almost hesitate to share, and we understand why.
Hidden away in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Relais Christine feels more like a private house than a hotel. It’s long been loved by artists, couples, and families who want discretion, warmth, and comfort without any show.
Redesigned by Laura Gonzalez, it has kept its soul: soft lighting, cosy salons with fireplaces, a beautiful vaulted spa, and one of the most peaceful private gardens in the Left Bank.
If you want to stay right in the heart of Paris but feel sheltered from it all, this is a wonderful choice.

Château Voltaire
55 Rue Saint-Roch, 75001 Paris
This is Paris at its most playful.
Set between the Opéra and the Tuileries, Château Voltaire doesn’t quite behave like a hotel, and that’s exactly the point. It’s theatrical, slightly surreal, and full of character, as if different eras of Paris decided to coexist under one roof.
The atmosphere feels cinematic: trompe-l’œil corridors, unexpected details, and a sense that something is always about to happen. Rooms are calm and beautifully done, while downstairs the restaurant hums with Parisian energy.
It’s a place for people who love design, culture, and a bit of fantasy, and who enjoy staying somewhere that feels alive.

Villa-des-Prés
29 Rue de Buci, 75006 Paris
Right in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Villa-des-Prés feels like a beautifully curated Parisian apartment.
Designed by Bruno Borrione, the hotel is intimate and art-driven, with original works throughout the spaces and rooms. Everything feels thoughtful, refined, and quietly elegant.
Some rooms have terraces or balconies, and there’s a leafy patio that’s perfect at any time of day. The indoor pool is a real bonus, rare for a boutique hotel in this neighbourhood.
It’s creative without being pretentious, comfortable without being bland, a lovely option if you want to fully immerse yourself in Left Bank life.

Les Suites Cinabre
14 Cité Bergère, 75009 Paris
This is not a hotel in the traditional sense, and that’s what makes it so special.
Les Suites Cinabre offers just two enormous private suites, tucked away on a discreet street in the 9th arrondissement, above the Cinabre flagship boutique.
Every detail has been thought through: Pierre Frey fabrics, Hästens beds, beautiful tableware, curated breakfasts, and a strong sense of personality throughout. It feels like staying in the eccentric Parisian home of someone with very good taste.
If you’re looking for privacy, space, and something truly different, this is a remarkable experience, especially for longer stays.

La Fantaisie Hôtel
24 Rue Cadet, 75009 Paris
La Fantaisie brings a breath of fresh air to Paris.
Set on lively rue Cadet, this five-star boutique hotel feels joyful, relaxed, and open to the city. Designed by Martin Brudnizki, the interiors are soft and colourful, with velvets, mosaics, and natural materials that invite you to slow down.
The real surprise is the garden, one of the rare lush green spaces in central Paris, and the rooftop, which feels like a little escape above the rooftops.
It’s modern, warm, and full of life. A great choice if you love creative neighbourhoods and want a hotel that feels both luxurious and easy.
