A Few Favourite Moments from Our April Tour in Provence

Our April tour in Provence was full of sunshine, slow mornings, and beautiful encounters. We thought we’d share a few highlights that really stood out, the kind of moments that remind us why we love doing this.

What we love most about our tours is how they take on a life of their own. Of course, we plan every detail; the visits, the meals, the markets; but in the end, it’s the shared experience that makes each trip so special.

This spring, we welcomed a wonderful group to the South of France. We were based at the lovely Domaine de Fontenille, surrounded by vineyards, fresh air, and that golden Provençal light that softens everything.

Rather than going through the itinerary day by day, we wanted to share a few favourite moments; the kind of simple, beautiful memories that stay with us long after the tour ends.

Lunch Under the Trees at Château de Brantes

There’s something about arriving in Provence and sitting down to a garden lunch that feels just right. On our first day, we were warmly welcomed to Château de Brantes by the owners, who have lived there for generations.

They prepared a fresh, organic lunch for us, vegetables, olive oil, cheeses, simple, honest food. We sat together under the trees, the sun filtering through the leaves, and it felt like a pause a quiet moment to land and begin the week.

After lunch, we strolled through the garden, guided by the owners, and took in the history and softness of a place that has been lovingly passed down through time.

A Morning at the Markets

Of course, no trip to Provence would be complete without a little antique hunting. We spent time at several village markets, including Eygalières, Lourmarin and Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, and guests had the chance to explore, chat with vendors, and find something to take home.

From vintage ceramics to embroidered linens and well-loved baskets, there were plenty of treasures to discover. These mornings are always a favourite; unhurried, full of colour and character, and a little bit of serendipity.

An Evening Apéritif at Château de Thézan

Later in the tour, we visited Château de Thézan for an apéritif and it turned out to be one of those truly special moments.

The château is impressive in its architecture; a mix of medieval strength, Renaissance elegance, and classical charm but it was the welcome we received that made it unforgettable.

The owners opened both their château and their home to us. We gathered in their garden as the sun slowly dipped, and they served beautiful apéritifs they had prepared themselves. It felt intimate and generous, and the garden came alive with soft conversations and laughter.

Floral Workshop with Sharon & Jamie

On saturday, we hosted a floral workshop with Sharon Santoni and Jamie Beck, which quickly became one of the most joyful experiences of the tour.

Surrounded by buckets of seasonal blooms; roses, jasmine, peonies, each guest created their own bouquet. Some wild, some more refined, all completely personal.

There was something wonderfully peaceful about the atmosphere and everyone was completely immersed in the creative moment. The table was a riot of colour by the end, and the photos speak for themselves.

A Private Visit to Le Mas de Chabran

One of the more quietly powerful visits was our private stop at Le Mas de Chabran. Nestled in the Alpilles, the property has been beautifully restored, a seamless blend of contemporary design and traditional Provençal architecture.

There’s a sense of serenity to the space. And it was a privilege to visit privately, with time to wander, take it all in, and learn about the story behind the renovation.
