There’s something truly magical about antique hunting in Paris and the mix of history, craftsmanship, and stories behind every piece never fails to inspire.
We’ve been hosting antique buying tours in France for years now, but there’s something about the first tour of the year that always feels extra special. It’s the excitement of welcoming our guests, the thrill of the hunt, and the joy of discovering beautiful pieces together; all set against the backdrop of Paris in early spring. This March, we gathered with a wonderful group and spent several unforgettable days treasure hunting, meeting our favorite vendors, and sharing good food, laughter, and those little moments that make each tour unique. Here are a few highlights we loved from this year’s first tour…

A Warm Welcome at Galerie Vauclair
We began our tour in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where everyone was staying, the perfect place to ease into the rhythm of the trip. Our first stop was Galerie Vauclair, where we received the warmest welcome. Sharon knows the gallery owner personally, and she took the time to introduce us to some truly remarkable pieces. One highlight was an incredible table setting of antique plates from Marseille, each piece telling its own story. We spent the afternoon wandering through favorite antique shops, stopping for a lovely aperitif, and enjoying the simple pleasure of strolling through sunlit streets, chatting and admiring beautiful windows.

A Beautiful Day at the Chatou Fair
The following day was dedicated to the Chatou Fair, one of the most anticipated events for antique lovers. Held twice a year, it’s a treasure trove of art, objects, furniture, and curiosities. The weather was on our side, bright blue skies and warm spring sunshine. Having Sharon by our side to introduce us to her trusted vendors, help negotiate, and guide us through the fair made the day smooth and exciting. We came across gorgeous paintings, antique linens, decorative objects, and so many unique pieces. But more than the finds, it was simply a perfect day for wandering, discovering, and soaking up the atmosphere.

Endless Treasure Hunting at Saint-Ouen
On Sunday, we headed to Saint-Ouen, the famous flea market that feels like its own little world. The market seems to stretch on forever, with something new around every corner; antique furniture, vintage fashion, silverware, art, and unexpected treasures. Sharon once again introduced us to her favorite vendors, including Lila K for exceptional vintage finds and Les Tables d’Eva for stunning table settings and antique decor. The weather was just as kind as the day before, making it a joy to wander and shop at a leisurely pace.

An Evening Aperitif at La Maison du Bac
One of the loveliest surprises of the tour was our visit to La Maison du Bac, where the boutique was closed just for us. The owners had set a stunning table in the center of the shop, decorated with antiques, each piece carefully chosen and full of charm. We sipped on a beautiful aperitif, enjoyed private shopping, and spent time chatting with the owners, who shared their stories and passion for their collection. It felt intimate and special, the kind of moment that reminds us why we love what we do.

A Special Lunch in Versailles
Every tour deserves a memorable finale, and this one did not disappoint. We traveled to Versailles for our last lunch together, dining at the stunning Le Grand Contrôle, part of Les Airelles. It was an afternoon of pure indulgence; beautifully prepared dishes, elegant surroundings, and the feeling of being truly pampered. After lunch, we were treated to a private tour of the King’s private apartments, a magical experience far from the crowds. Walking through those grand yet intimate spaces was the perfect way to end our time together.

We feel so lucky to share these experiences with such wonderful guests. And the good news is, we’ll be doing it all again next year!
